Namobuddha, named after the Namo Buddha Stupa,is one of the holiest sites for Buddhists in Nepal. Many Hindus & Buddhists make their pilgrimage tour to this popular site. It is situated at an elevation of 1750m. And lies about 38 km east of Kathmandu. The Stupa and shrines built in this lovely little hill mark a very ancient holy site which signifies the place where a legendary prince named Mahasattva offered himself to a starving Tigress with its several underfed cubs. This legendary episode is depicted in a very nice stone slab and depicted right next to a holy Stupa. This area is also one of the best viewpoints for viewing some of the highest peaks in the World. We walk through rice terraces, village until we reach Panauti. From Panauti we drive back to Kathmandu.

Early in the morning, drive from Kathmandu for about one and half hours to Dhapasi,( 35 kilometers east of Kathmandu.)

From Dhapasi, your hiking trail heads northeast and the trail becomes narrow as you move further. You cross over a suspension bridge and pass through many small villages with huge rice field. The trail goes steeply uphill for about an hour until reaching Namobuddha. After making some detours in and around the area here, you will drive to Kathmandu via Dhulikhel which takes about one & half hours.
